 In 1987, Social Expressions was founded as a 300 square foot retail store in Providence, Rhode Island dedicated to the finest stationery products from around the world. By 1996, Social Expressions expanded into a 1500 square foot location, in one of Providence's toniest neighborhoods catering to the needs of well-heeled shoppers. We continued our expansion in 2001 with the launch of our E-Commerce website socialexpressionsri.com attracting customers worldwide.
With this expansion, we have added the world's finest offering in men's and women's toiletries, personal fragrances, personal care items, home fragrances, as well as luxuries for the bath and bed; winning us much recognition from the local media, as well as many awards. Our mix of classics - such as Creed Fragrances, Hermes Fragrances, Rigaud Candles, Roger & Gallet, Acca Kappa, and Taylor of Old Bond Street - with newer "cutting edge" collections from The Thymes, Allora Ambiance, Seda France and Fruits and Passion has established Social Expressions as the primary retailer for distinctive gifts and personal care products. Many of the products have been featured in esteemed publications such as "Oprah - The Oprah Magazine", "Elle", "GQ", "Vogue", " Bon Appetit", "Home Magazine", "Hamptons", "Gotham" as well as many others.
Our renown in the retail industry has enabled us to acquire exclusivity in the Southeastern New England area on much of our product offerings. Research is always under way for new product lines, as well as additions to existing ones. One spectacular product continuously succeeds another, while older ones are constantly re-evaluated.
